Why Children Should Have Limited Devices
Imagine having a child who has a device for everything. A cell phone, tablet, laptop, desktop, and even a video game console. Now, imagine them being seven years old. Community leaders like Rachel Harow believe in supporting their children’s wants, needs, but regulating how many devices their child poses.
Having these standards allows children to have a healthy amount of time on and off devices. Most parents now grew up without technology being such a frontier in society. Children have to compete with each other online and that can cause a great commotion. Cyberbullying is a serious problem in 2020 and they only want to stop it by limiting access to children. Millions of people are affected by cyberbullying each year, which has so many dangerous consequences for the future. It takes a lot of explanation for children to really grasp why having so many devices can have negative effects. That being said parents and guardians have to do their best to protect the youth of this country to stop participating in only online activities. As fun as it might seem to children, the blue light exposure and lack of outside play can be harmful. Rachel Harow insists her children always play outside and have limited time on their electronics.
