Pollution Based On Social Media

Pollution is incredibly harmful to the environment. It is caused by substances that create air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, light pollution, and noise pollution. These all are differentiated by the materials that pollute the different surface areas. For example, the chemicals found in many sewer plants, treatment facilities, and factories pollute the rivers and oceans. The soil also gets polluted by runoff in many scenarios. The plastic and garbage that pollutes the many corners of the earth are very harmful to animals. Many birds, turtles, and native sea life have trouble living their best life with the amount of pollution in the ocean. Although some pollutants are invisible they can be deadly. Alexander Djerassi urges people to stop polluting or to research ways to be less harmful to the environment. Every year about one point two trillion gallons of untreated sewage, stormwater, and factory waste are dumped into the United States water. In 1975, which was thirty five years ago, the National Academy of scientists estimated that cargo-ships and many other mainstream liners dumped fourteen billion pounds of garbage into the ocean. That is sick. The eco-systems in the ocean have heavily suffered because of it. There are the Easter Garbage PAtches and the Western Garbage PAtches, In addition, there is the Subtropical Convergence Zone which is also highly filled with garbage. From California to Japan, the ocean is basically littered with trash. Many different types of sea life mistake the plastic for food and die because of it. Abandoned fishing nets catch animals only to kill them as well. There is so much pollution in the oceans that is seriously damaging to the Earth as a whole. Seafood will eventually become extinct because there will be no organisms left in the ocean.Over one million seabirds and one hundred thousand sea mammals are killed by pollution every year. Even lakes are starting to get polluted. The extremely large surface areas are miles long and keep growing as people keep producing more and more plastic. The people on this plant need to make a change before it’s too late. The more people stop focusing on sustainable brands and compostable products, the worse these plastic islands will get. Pollution is solvable if everyone works together to fight the issue. Greenhouse gases and carbon emissions are at an all time high and they need to be stopped. Many forget that a majority of the items we use on a daily basis are very much not mundane. Cell phones, computers, diesel trucks, are all not necessary for survival. Back in the beginning of humanity, people survived a tenth of the items we all have in our homes. Subtracting a few of those things and practicing sustainability are crucial to the long term survival of the planet. The measures people will take now is how the future generation will live their lives. Social media has presented all the facts above. Stand strong for the Earth!
